The Discovery Phase is designed for students who are ready to step up - academically, socially, and personally - while still needing strong relationships and support.
These are powerful years of growth. Students are curious, capable, and beginning to think more deeply about who they are and how they learn best.
At Faith, we meet them right there. Learning in the Discovery Phase is rich, varied, and increasingly connected to the real world.
Students are encouraged to take responsibility, try new things, and stretch themselves - knowing they are supported by teachers who know them well.

There's A LOT to look forward to!
Discovery Phase students get access to experiences that make school feel exciting, grown-up, and meaningful.
Here's what our incoming Years 5 and 6 students have to look forward to:
- Intraschool and interschool sport on Friday afternoons
- Camps that build independence and resilience - Emu Gully in Year 5 and Sydney/Canberra in Year 6
- Performing Arts opportunities, including competitions and private tuition
- Instrumental music lessons for all students
- Regular visits to our onsite farm, meeting animals and learning about agriculture and sustainability
- Digital citizenship learning, helping students navigate the online world confidently and responsibly
- The Tuckshop (always popular)
- Microwaves to heat up lunch - a small thing that feels very grown-up
These experiences aren’t extras. They’re part of helping students grow in confidence, independence, and capability.
Why Years 5 and 6 are the ideal time to join Faith
For many families, the Discovery Phase represents the best point of entry into Faith.
- Joining in Years 5 or 6 allows students to:
- settle into Faith’s learning model before the secondary years
- build strong relationships ahead of adolescence
- develop confidence and independence gradually
- experience a smoother, more supported transition into Year 7
Importantly, enrolling in the Discovery Phase also provides families with the strongest pathway into Faith’s high school, where demand - particularly for Year 7 - is high.
Rather than facing a major change at the end of Year 6, students who join earlier move forward with confidence and continuity.

The Discovery Phase is intentionally designed as a bridge between Junior School and secondary learning.
Students don’t feel rushed - and they don’t feel held back.
They grow, step up, and prepare for what comes next.
