Term 1, Week 5 2026

We are already halfway through Term 1!

As we reach the midpoint of Term 1, it has been encouraging to see students settling into the routines and expectations of the Graduate Phase.

Classrooms remain focused, STEP sessions are purposeful, and many students are beginning to show greater independence as they navigate the demands of senior schooling.

We look forward to seeing this steady progress continue as the term unfolds.

Academic Progress and Mentoring

All Graduate Phase students have now completed their Academic Progress Monitoring forms. This reflective process encourages students to pause, consider their current performance, and set clear, achievable goals for the weeks ahead.

It is an important step in learning to manage their own progress as young adults who are increasingly responsible for their choices and outcomes.

Each student has also been paired with a dedicated Academic Mentor from the College’s middle or senior leadership team. These regular check ins are designed to:

  • Support students in tracking their academic progress
  • Provide individualised guidance
  • Strengthen accountability
  • Ensure early intervention when needed
Senior Attire Committee – Student Voice in Action

The Senior Attire Committee continues to meet, with thoughtful ideas and meaningful discussions shaping the design process.

It has been encouraging to see students engage respectfully and take responsibility for a tradition that represents their identity and legacy as a cohort.

We look forward to unveiling the final design later this term.

RACQ Incursion

Our Year 12 students recently participated in RACQ’s Driver IQ Provisional Program. The session offered valuable, real-world learning about staying safe on the road.

Students explored hazard perception, the impact of peer influence, and strategies for managing risk in everyday driving situations.

They also learned what to do in the event of a breakdown or crash, helping them build confidence and awareness as new and future drivers.

Drive to School Permissions

Thank you to all students who have completed their Drive to School permissions and submitted the required documentation.

Students who displayed their permits during our recent car park check received a canteen voucher in recognition of their responsibility and initiative. We are proud of the way our Graduate Phase students model accountability and uphold College expectations.

If any student is yet to finalise their authorisation, please ensure this is completed as soon as possible.

As assessments and key dates begin to fill the calendar, we encourage students and families to check emails regularly.

Important reminders, notices, and updates are shared via email to help students stay organised and prepared.

Growing as Young Adults

The Graduate Phase is a time of significant growth. As students move toward adulthood, we continue to emphasise the importance of self-management, respectful communication, and taking responsibility for their choices.

Through mentoring, STEP sessions, Phase Coach support, and restorative conversations, we aim to guide students in developing the maturity and resilience needed for life beyond school.

We appreciate the partnership of families as we support students in this journey.

Absences

A friendly reminder that if your child is absent from school for any reason - including participation in school sport trials - the absence must be recorded by parents/carers via the College App or by contacting College reception.

The school is unable to log student absences on behalf of families due to various factors that can impact student attendance on any given day. For this reason, all absences need to be confirmed by families.

If you have any questions about logging an absences please speak to your child's Head of Wellbeing.

Closing Blessing

As we move into the second half of the term, we encourage students to stay focused, organised, and engaged in their learning:

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” — Proverbs 16:3

May the coming weeks be marked by steady effort, purpose, and pride in all that we do.
