Reconciliation Action Plan
At Faith Lutheran College, we are committed to fostering a culture of respect, understanding and meaningful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We are proud to share our inaugural Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), an important milestone in our ongoing journey towards reconciliation.
Developed through the Narragunnawali: Reconciliation in Education program, our RAP was created by a dedicated working group of teaching and non-teaching staff who collaborated to develop a meaningful and practical plan for our College community. It reflects our shared commitment to creating an inclusive environment that honours the cultures, histories, spiritualities, knowledges and perspectives of Australia's First Nations peoples.
Faith Lutheran College acknowledges that we are situated on Yuggera Land and recognises the Traditional Owners and Custodians, the Yuggera and Urgrapul peoples. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Inspired by God's grace and guided by our College vision of awakening potential to empower learners for purposeful lives through Christ, our Reconciliation Action Plan outlines practical actions that will strengthen relationships, deepen understanding and create opportunities for reconciliation across our College community. Through learning, truth-telling and genuine partnership, we seek to build a future founded on respect, equity and unity.
Our RAP is more than a document - it is a commitment to embedding reconciliation into the life of our College through teaching and learning, community engagement, daily practices and relationships. As we continue this journey together, we remain committed to listening, learning and walking alongside First Nations peoples with humility, respect and hope.
