Term 1, Week 3, 2026

Exploration Phase Information Session
Thank you to all who attended our recent Exploration Information Night.
It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with parents and carers in a relaxed setting, and we hope you gained meaningful insight into the overall workings of the Exploration Phase and its unique model of schooling.
As part of the evening, our Wellbeing Team has prepared a Parent Guide to complement the information shared. This guide can be accessed via the button below.
Phone Expectations
In 2026, we have a renewed emphasis on phone expectations. Phones are to remain out of sight and out of mind, and the results so far have been very positive.
Students are beginning to understand the importance of being present, engaged, and ready to learn. This shift is already contributing to calmer learning spaces, stronger focus, and more meaningful social interactions across the day.
Return vaccination forms - Year 10
Free school vaccinations are on Tuesday 17 March. Consent packs have been sent home.
All forms need to be signed and returned ASAP.
If you have questions or require another form, please contact College Health Centre: FirstAid@faithlcs.qld.edu.au
Absences
A friendly reminder that if your child is absent from school for any reason - including participation in school sport such as Western Ranges trials - the absence must be recorded by parents/carers via the College App or by contacting College reception.
The College is unable to log student absences on behalf of families due to various factors that can impact student attendance on any given day. For this reason, all absences need to be confirmed by families.
If you have any questions about logging an absences please speak to your child's Head of Wellbeing.
Assessment Calendar
An email containing a copy of the Assessment Calendar for 2026 Semester 1 has been sent out to families this week.
Please filter for specific subjects using the drop down arrows at the top of each column. It can be overwhelming at first glance and becomes more manageable when the filters are applied.
This timetable helps students and families stay organised as the semester progresses. Students can also utilise their calendar on Brightspace to see upcoming events and assessment.
2026 Parent Representatives
Are you keen to support the ongoing growth and development of Faith Lutheran College? If so, we warmly invite you to consider becoming a Parent Representative in 2026.
This group meets once a term and provides a valuable opportunity for parents to have their voices heard, share feedback, contribute ideas, and partner with the College in thoughtful planning that supports our students and broader community.
In 2025, Parent Representatives played an important role in uniform and grooming updates, refining College events, contributing to the implementation of the Mobile Device Policy, and strengthening parent–carer partnerships through improved engagement processes.
Their involvement made a genuine difference - and we would be delighted to see this partnership continue in 2026.
If you are interested in making meaningful change, please complete the 2026 Parent Representatives or contact mfreeman@faithlcs.qld.edu.au.

Real Talk Parent Portal
This week, we would like to highlight an article from Kirra Pendergast at Safe on Social. It contains interesting insights into the social media ban, particularly focusing on Big Tech and its influence on young minds.
Meanwhile, here at Faith, we have been embracing Digital Literacy Week with a focus on AI awareness and identifying deepfakes. Students have been engaging with a range of videos and interactive content—such as Explo - Can you spot an AI fake.mp4 - which may serve as excellent conversation starters at home.
