Term 2, Week 2, 2026

From the Heads of Wellbeing

Welcome back to Term 2. We have been incredibly impressed with how our Graduate Phase students have returned — focused, positive, and ready to engage. It is clear that our young people are committed to making the most of the opportunities ahead, and we are excited for what promises to be a big and important term.

For our Year 12 students, this term marks the completion of many final internal assessments before transitioning into preparation for external examinations later in the year. For our Year 11 students, the pace of the compressed senior course continues, with strong engagement already evident as they build momentum in their learning.

Academic Progress & Mentoring

In the coming weeks, our Year 11 students will begin their Academic Mentoring Meetings. These important check-ins provide an opportunity to reflect on:

  • academic progress,
  • study habits,
  • wellbeing,
  • and any factors impacting engagement and success.

These conversations are designed to ensure every student feels supported, known, and equipped to continue progressing positively through the Graduate Phase.

Attendance Reminder

A reminder to all families that 90% attendance is expected in the Graduate Phase.

  • All absences (full day or partial) must be explained by a parent/carer.
  • This includes late arrivals, which are currently occurring without explanation for a number of students.

In the coming weeks, we will be following up with families where attendance concerns or patterns of lateness are identified. These conversations come from a place of support, as regular attendance is critical for both academic success and wellbeing.

We appreciate your partnership in ensuring students are present, punctual, and ready to learn.

MVP & Staff Recognition – Celebrating Honour

We have recommenced our fortnightly MVP and Staff Recognition, aligned with our weekly Fruit of Faith focus.

This fortnight’s focus: Honour — acting with integrity

Student Nominated MVP – Jacob Sippel
Jacob was recognised by his peers for consistently demonstrating integrity, kindness, and leadership within our community.

Students described Jacob as:

  • respectful and proud to represent the College,
  • an all-round positive contributor,
  • a hardworking and dedicated student,
  • someone who supports others and leads by example,
  • engaging, inclusive, and kind to all.

Jacob’s quiet leadership and genuine care for others embody what it means to live out the Fruits of Faith. Well done, Jacob.

Head of Wellbeing Nominated MVP – Aria Frohloff
Aria has been recognised for her consistent demonstration of care, kindness, and positivity across the Graduate Phase.

This term, Aria has taken initiative in supporting others — acting as a buddy to new students and assisting peers with practical needs such as locker organisation. Her willingness to help, combined with her warm and approachable nature, has made a genuine difference to those around her.

Aria consistently reflects the College values in her everyday actions, embodying what it means to lead through service and kindness.

Well done, Aria.

Staff Recognition – Mr Chris Kent

Mr Kent was recognised by students for the incredible energy, care, and positivity he brings to his teaching and the wider College community.

Students highlighted that Mr Kent:

  • makes lessons engaging, enjoyable, and meaningful,
  • builds strong relationships with students,
  • brings humour, warmth, and enthusiasm to the classroom,
  • supports students both academically and personally,
  • models Christ-centred values in all that he does.

We thank Mr Kent for his ongoing commitment to our students and his ability to make learning both impactful and enjoyable.

Cross Country Carnival

Our recent Cross Country Carnival was a fantastic day of house spirit and community connection.

It was wonderful to see our Graduate Phase students:

  • embracing house colours (with plenty of neon!),
  • participating with enthusiasm,
  • and supporting one another throughout both the race and the stampede.

Days like these are a reminder of the importance of belonging, connection, and shared experiences.

Year 12 – Looking Ahead

Our Year 12 students are entering a significant period of their final year.

In the coming weeks:

  • Students will complete surveys to shape their final 100 days.
  • Planning for Formal and other milestone events will commence.
  • Students will contribute ideas for their Senior Legacy Gift and nominated charity.

This phase is a unique blend of academic rigour and memorable community experiences — and student voice continues to play a vital role in shaping it.

A Focus on Kindness

Term 2 can be a busy and, at times, stressful period. As a Graduate Phase, we are intentionally reminding our students of the importance of kindness.

We are asking our young people to reflect on:

  • the type of person they want to be remembered as,
  • how they contribute to others’ experiences,
  • and the impact their words and actions have on those around them.

No one has the right to negatively impact another person’s experience of school or their wellbeing. Even in moments of stress or pressure, we can always choose kindness.

Closing Reflection

As we begin this term, may we continue to build a Graduate Phase community grounded in care, respect, and belonging.

“Be kind and compassionate to one another.” — Ephesians 4:32

May our actions reflect this each day, and may we continue to create positive memories — not just for ourselves, but for everyone around us.
