Term 2, Week 8, 2026

From the Graduate Phase Leaders
As we reach the conclusion of Semester 1, we would like to take a moment to acknowledge the effort, resilience, and growth demonstrated by our Graduate Phase students throughout what has been a busy and rewarding semester.
The end of a semester often brings with it assessment deadlines, examinations, co-curricular commitments, and the demands of everyday life. We are incredibly proud of the way our students have navigated these challenges and continued to support one another along the way.
As we move into the holiday break, we encourage all students to intentionally rest and recharge. While the holidays can provide an opportunity to catch up on study or prepare for upcoming assessments, it is equally important that students take time to prioritise their wellbeing, connect with family and friends, pursue interests outside of school, and return next term refreshed and ready for the opportunities ahead.
We thank our families for their ongoing partnership and support throughout Semester 1 and wish everyone a safe, restful, and enjoyable holiday break.
Phase Coach Update – Managing Assessment Stress
Over the past fortnight, students have engaged in Phase Coach lessons focused on Managing Assessment Stress.
Assessment periods can often bring increased pressure and heightened emotions. Through these sessions, students explored the difference between helpful stress (eustress) and unhelpful stress (distress), reflected on their personal stress responses, and considered practical strategies for managing pressure in healthy and productive ways.
Students were encouraged to reflect on:
• the factors contributing to their current stress levels,
• the difference between challenge and overwhelm,
• the habits that support wellbeing during busy periods,
• the importance of seeking support when needed,
• and practical changes they can make to reduce unnecessary pressure.
A key message from the program was that stress itself is not always harmful. Often, stress is information. It can signal that something matters to us, that we care about our learning, or that we need to make adjustments to better support our wellbeing.
As we move into the holiday period, we encourage students to continue practising the strategies discussed during these sessions and to use the break as an opportunity to rest, reset, and prepare for Semester 2.
Year 11 Leadership Applications
Applications are now open for students wishing to be considered for Student Leadership positions in 2026/27. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to contribute positively to the College community, develop their leadership capabilities, and serve others through a range of leadership portfolios.
We encourage all Year 11 students who are passionate about making a difference within our community to consider applying.
Applications close on Friday 17 July 2026 at 3pm (Term 3, Week 1) and must be submitted to Student Services. Students will be required to submit an application form and a letter addressing the selection criteria outlined in the application package.
Leadership at Faith is not simply about holding a title; it is about serving others, leading by example, and living out the Fruits of Faith through everyday actions. We look forward to seeing the many ways our students seek to contribute to the future of our College community.
Pre-Athletics Carnival
Students are reminded that our Pre-Athletics Carnival will be held on Wednesday 17 June.
This year's theme is Hawaiian, and students are encouraged to embrace the spirit of the day by dressing in theme-appropriate attire while adhering to College dress expectations.
The Pre-Athletics Carnival is always a fantastic opportunity for students to connect with their House, demonstrate House spirit, and enjoy some friendly competition before the Athletics Carnival later in the year.
We look forward to seeing plenty of colour, enthusiasm, and House pride on display.
Walk My Way 2026
We encourage all Graduate Phase students and families to consider becoming involved in Walk My Way this year.
Walk My Way is a meaningful community event that raises awareness and support for people experiencing homelessness and hardship. The event provides a valuable opportunity for students to actively demonstrate service, compassion, and community engagement while making a positive difference in the lives of others.
Participation in events such as Walk My Way reflects many of the values we seek to develop within our Graduate Phase students and provides a tangible way to put faith into action.
Further information and registration details can be found via Brightspace.
MVP & Staff Recognition – Celebrating Care
We continue to celebrate the individuals within our Graduate Phase community who consistently demonstrate the Fruits of Faith through their everyday actions and interactions with others.
Student Nominated MVP – Hailey Stark
Hailey has been recognised by her peers for the kindness, care, and support she consistently shows to those around her.
Students describe Hailey as someone who is always willing to listen, offer encouragement, and make others feel included. Her thoughtful and caring nature has a positive impact on both her friendship groups and the wider Graduate Phase community.
Whether it is checking in on a peer, offering support during challenging times, or simply bringing positivity to those around her, Hailey exemplifies what it means to lead through kindness and compassion.
Well done, Hailey.
Head of Wellbeing Nominated MVP – Mr Fletcher Geary
Mr Geary has been recognised for his unwavering commitment to supporting students and consistently placing their needs at the centre of his work.
Students and staff alike appreciate Mr Geary's willingness to help, his positive attitude, and his readiness to say "yes" when opportunities arise to support young people. His approachable nature, genuine care for students, and commitment to creating positive experiences make a significant difference within our College community.
Mr Geary continually demonstrates servant leadership through his actions and is a valued advocate for students across the College.
Thank you, Mr Geary, for the care, energy, and enthusiasm you bring to our community.
Staff Recognition – Mrs Robyn Viles
Mrs Viles has been recognised by students for the outstanding support and assistance she provides through Student Services.
Students consistently describe Mrs Viles as welcoming, approachable, and incredibly helpful. Whether assisting with daily enquiries, providing guidance, or helping students navigate challenges throughout the school day, she is always willing to go above and beyond to support those in her care.
Her kindness, patience, and commitment to helping students feel supported and valued are deeply appreciated by our Graduate Phase community.
We thank Mrs Viles for the genuine care and support she provides to our College community.
Student Driver and Car Park Reminder
As our number of student drivers continues to grow, we would like to remind students and families of several important expectations regarding student parking.
Approved student drivers may now utilise the designated grassed, cordoned-off area on the western side of the Staff Car Park as an additional student parking area moving forward.
Students are reminded that:
• the J Block car park is not available for student parking at any time,
• all directions provided by Facilities staff must be followed respectfully,
• students must park only in approved student parking areas,
• and all student drivers must complete the College Student Driver Approval process prior to driving to and parking at the College.
The Student Driver Approval process forms an important part of the College's duty of care and risk management procedures. We are aware that some students currently driving to school have not yet completed this process and ask families to ensure this requirement is addressed as soon as possible if applicable.
We thank students and families for their support in helping maintain a safe and orderly environment for all members of our College community.
Closing Reflection
As Semester 1 draws to a close, we encourage our students to pause and reflect on all that has been accomplished over the past six months.
There have been successes worth celebrating, challenges that have strengthened us, and countless moments of learning along the way. May the holiday break provide an opportunity for rest, renewal, and gratitude for the journey so far.
We look forward to welcoming students back next term ready to embrace the opportunities, challenges, and experiences that Semester 2 will bring.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
