Term 3, Week 5, 2026

This week has been one of celebration, reflection and anticipation as our senior students continue their journey through the second half of the year.

Year 12 Senior Formal

On Monday evening, our Year 12 students gathered for their Formal, an occasion marked by joy, gratitude and community. 

Students arrived in an impressive variety of vehicles, from high-performance and modified cars to stretch limousines, convertibles, vintage vehicles and four-wheel drives, before making their way along the red carpet through a paparazzi of camera flashes. Families enjoyed canapés overlooking the beautiful grounds of Hillstone Estate before students gathered for the cohort photograph and heard from our Principal and College Captains. 

As the evening progressed, students and staff shared a high-quality three-course meal, enjoyed the photo booth, tested their knowledge through a variety of trivia challenges, including a spirited game of Guess the Baby Photo, and finished the night on the dance floor with DJ Pete. 

While the setting may have been different this year, what remained constant was the strong sense of community that has helped shape this cohort throughout their schooling journey.

100 Days to Go

The celebrations continued on Wednesday as our Year 12 students marked their "100 Days to Go" milestone. Over cupcakes and conversation, students reflected on how far they have come and looked ahead to the final phase of their schooling journey. 

As School Captain Kylah noted in her address at the Formal, the coming months will be filled with many "lasts" – final assemblies, final classes, final assessments and ultimately the conclusion of thirteen years of formal education. Alongside the excitement, there is naturally some nervousness and apprehension. 

As a Graduate Phase team, we share these emotions and look forward to supporting our students as they navigate this significant season.

Academic Progress & Mentoring – Year 12

Throughout Term 3, all Year 12 students will participate in Academic Progress and Mentoring Meetings, commencing in Week 5.

These conversations provide an opportunity for students to:

  • Reflect on their academic performance;
  • Review progress toward graduation goals;
  • Discuss preparation strategies for upcoming external assessments;
  • Consider future pathway plans;
  • Identify any wellbeing or learning supports that may be required.

Our goal is to ensure every student feels known, supported, and equipped to finish their final year strongly.

ATAR and QTAC Sessions

Last week, our ATAR-pathway students attended an information session with Careers Counsellor Ms Robbins, where they established their ATAR portals and submitted their QTAC applications. It was exciting to see students taking practical steps towards a wide range of tertiary pathways and future aspirations. 

Any student who was unable to attend this session should contact Ms Robbins for assistance.

2027 Leadership Development Day

Earlier this week, we had the pleasure of taking a group of aspiring Years 11 and Year 10 student leaders to the Ropeley Lutheran Church for our annual Leadership Development Day. These students had previously expressed an interest in leadership through a student voice survey and successfully completed the written application process.

Throughout the day, students reflected on their individual strengths, identified areas for growth, and considered the unique qualities they could bring to a leadership team. They also spent time envisioning the future of Faith, discussing what they would like the 2027 student leadership team to implement and the legacy they hope to leave for future students.

A highlight of the day was the warm hospitality shown by members of the Ropeley Lutheran Church congregation. The beautiful morning tea and lunch they prepared, together with the genuine conversations and words of wisdom they shared with our students, made the day especially memorable. We are incredibly grateful for their continued partnership with and support of our College community.

Over the coming weeks, these students will continue through the leadership selection process, including interviews with key staff members. Students applying for College Captain and House Captain positions will also present speeches to their respective communities as they share their vision for leadership at Faith.

We wish every one of these students God's richest blessings as they continue through this process. May they approach each opportunity with confidence, humility and grace, and continue to demonstrate the leadership potential we were privileged to witness throughout the day.

Academic Progress Meetings

In the coming weeks, Year 12 students will participate in their final Academic Progress Meetings following the release of IA3 results. Students should ensure they have completed their preparation forms within Phase Coach prior to attending their meeting. ATAR-eligible students will also receive their updated ATAR prediction during this process.

Mock External and Year 11 Examination Blocks

Families should also be aware that communications regarding this term's examination blocks were distributed this week. The Year 12 Mock Examination Block will run from Monday 24 August to Friday 28 August, while the Year 11 Final Examination Block will run from Wednesday 2 September to Friday 11 September. Families are encouraged to carefully review the information provided, particularly in relation to attendance expectations and AARA processes.

As we move into what is traditionally one of the busiest periods of the academic year, we remain grateful for the strong sense of community that underpins our Graduate Phase. Together, we look forward to supporting our students through the challenges, milestones and opportunities that lie ahead.
